Back from the Gili’s

I’m back in Padangbai after 3 days in the Gili’s, now I don’t want to be rude, maybe wasn’t the right season, but I didn’t like the atmosphere, the people, the sea, the beaches! No way, Bali is much much better, that’s why we came back for enjoying the last days together!

padangbai → candi dasa

I wasn’t sure about going in this little town just 12 km from padangbai, first of all cause a lot of Balinese ppl told me that’s nothing to do there and the beach aren’t so good. But I’m stubborn so I took the bemo cause I wanted to check by myself. Ok not every times, but sometimes is better listen what the locals are trying to tell u: candi dasa is shit! Cmon, its not so bad! There’s a beautiful view on the ocean, and.. there is.. yes… the sea and fishermen.. and aaah yes, the sea! I already said that? Aahh who im trying to fool, candi dasa is just useless! I arrived in the morning around 10 o’clock and I spent 1 hour looking for a decent cheap place! The prices are crazy here, nothing under 150k rp even if u bargain! Anyway, I got this rly cheap place for 50k (89k rp = 10 aus) with sea view no fan and crappy shower, just had a 1 hour walk around (nothing to see), had lunch in a nice place and go back to my room for the rest of the day. Yes its sad. Anyway I got this place with a nice sea view, I know I already said that for fuck sake, but its the only thing I got ahahha!
Dinner time! Wasn’t so hungry but I wanted to try some locals food, but guess what? Rain! YEAH! And not that kind of rain that u can walk around and maybe clean up your feet.
Nope.
Was a fucking tropical rainstorm, with thunder and lighting, and after 0.5 seconds I was completely wet. Just for crossing the road. Anyway, for dinner I had a fried bomb with vegetables and other stuff, dunno exactly, street foods, very healthy isn’t it? I was sit on the floor, having my food, talking with balinese guys about a visit of the president the day after near candi dasa and they want to close the road too. Fuckme! No way I want to leave this… enchanting place! They try to sell too some trips and taxi and motorbike and other stuff but its useless with me, im poor. Bought some chocolate and then go back to my room for relaxing and enjoying the sea view… for fucksake stop with this sea view! But what a surprise!! It was raining in my room, and guess where? On my bloody laptop! Like a tasmanian devil (the disney one) I moved the bed and try to dry everything, praying for my laptop, I prayed jesus, buddah, and vishnu too. You never know who’s listening, maybe one of them was busy atm. The laptop is working, everything is fine, and the owner of that place came to my room for checking and she was rly sorry about the rain and I got moved in another room, better bed better bathroom and most important, no raining.
In the morning I had a quick breakfast, banana pancake, tea and fresh fruit, packed all my stuff and rdy to go! I took the bemo (its like the public transport for locals, a small van) from Candi Dasa to Amrapura and from Amrapura to Amed. Was a rly funny trip, 16 ppl + a chicken in a small van. Nice experience. Im not sarcastic.

Amed

Arrived to Amed at 11.30 and suddenly I had a deja vous: no beaches and a rly small town. Had a walk around for find a good place to stay, founded a place for 90k with swimming pool, fan and cold shower. I met this 2 french guys and they were rly friendly, we went to snorkelling together, and the reef wasn’t too bad! Uhmm Amed seems nicer than Candi Dasa! After a couple of hours in the water we went back to the guest house for a relaxing time in the pool under the rain. I met too this old belgium woman, really interesting, we had a nice chat for a good hour about life, energy, aura, karma and stuff like that. She was a bit strange. We had dinner all together, the french guys (Regis and Kevin), the belgium woman (Annie), me and we met in this warung (restaurant) a canadian girl (Emilie). Everyone were speaking french. For fuck sake. Was a good opportunity for some french listening.
So on tuesday snorkelling in the morning, then in the afternoon went fishing with Emilie and a balinese guy. The fishing was good, the view from the boat was awesome and for dinner we went back to the warung and a girl cooked for us a traditional dish plus our catch of the day with rice and veggies and balinese sauce! Was a huge feast, we couldn’t finish everything!! On wednesday morning, me and the belgium woman, decide to check out the ceremony here in Amed, in the local temple. Was really nice, the temple was packed and was freaking hot and humid.

Amed → Tirtagannga → Pura Lempuyang → Padangbai → Ubud → Padangbai

I waited for Emilie and finally we left with the motorbike around 2pm heading to Tirtagannga (holy water). We stayed there one night, we had a beautiful room with a awesome view on the rice fields, and just downstairs, following a small rocks path, the public bath Tirtagannga. I had a swim with the locals and visited the beautiful gardens, was brilliant. The morning after we went to Pura Lempuyang, 5 temples connected by a 1700 steps, was really cloudy, the atmosphere was mystical, I really enjoy the trip and the company of my beautiful Emilie 🙂
We were a little bit in hurry, cause Emilie had to return the motorbike in Ubud for 6pm, so we drove to Padangbai for drop my backpacks and to met Mikey and Kate! Yeeeaaah I was so happy! But I decided to go to Ubud with Emilie and return to Padangbai with the bus the day after. So I had a funny evening and night with the messy girl Emilie, but I have to remember that onions and bintang are a bad combination 🙂
So its friday morning, had a nice breakfast with Emilie and its time to say bye bye. Now im in Padangbay with my mates Mikey and Kate, maybe tomorrow or the day after we are going to the Gili’s.

Ok guys for now its all, miss you all 🙂
